Everyday Life with My Daughter Who Has a Dairy Allergy

Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog.
I’m a father raising a 5th grade daughter. Through this blog, I hope to share our daily experiences with dairy-free meals, dining out tips, recommended products, and restaurant info — all with the hope of helping families who are in similar situations.
◆ About My Daughter’s Allergy
My daughter has had a dairy allergy since she was little, and we still follow a strict dairy-free diet.
That said, as she grows, her body is also changing. Currently, she undergoes “oral food challenges” at the hospital about twice a year under the guidance of her doctor.
These challenges involve consuming small amounts of dairy to observe her body’s reaction. Over time, the amount she can tolerate has slightly increased.
Still, the safe intake is only around 25ml. So in our daily life, we always make sure that her meals are free of any dairy ingredients.
◆ Why I Started This Blog
If you have a child with a dairy allergy, you probably know the struggle:
- “There’s nothing safe to eat at restaurants.”
- “Every snack requires a careful ingredient check.”
- “A great product we found suddenly disappears from shelves…”
We’ve faced those same challenges, and tried out many products and places.
By writing things down, maybe someone out there will find this helpful when they hit similar roadblocks. That’s why I started this blog.
◆ What I Plan to Post
Here’s what I plan to focus on in future posts:
- Introducing allergy-friendly foods and snacks from stores
- Restaurant and menu recommendations (especially in the Yokohama area)
- Meal planning during special events like travel or birthdays
I hope these posts will provide even a little bit of help or comfort to someone reading them.
Thank you for reading and supporting this blog!
